Dolly is Planalto Dolphin of Helm's Alee, born April 17, 2004 in Arizona. Her dog mom, Chalupa, and her sisters are all therapy dogs too. Dolly's litter mom, Karen, used to take the pups to church and to work. Dolly flew to Maryland when she was just 7 weeks old with her human mom, Mary (aka - the bipedal treat dispenser), who continued the practice of taking Dolly to work. Dolly is a brown wavy Portuguese Water Dog, and she loves the water for swimming, splashing and playing. She learned to drink out of water faucets very quickly, and she loves to explore new places, including the inside of the dryer. Portuguese Water Dogs were used for hundreds of years off fishing boats from Portugal to retrieve items that fell over board. In port, the dogs guarded the boat. They are notoriously independent-minded, and are famous for cleverly getting into things. Dolly is no exception. She earned her CGC before she turned one, and she just became a TDI dog this year. Dolly is a relatively new therapy dog with Fidos For Freedom, and she really likes all of the other dogs and the opportunity to meet new people. She also likes the visits to Brook Grove and Cherry Lane. In her free time she looks forward to Erin's agility classes and long walks around Annapolis.
