Herart's Demon Lover (known to all as Xander) is a red tri Australian shepherd. He is a rescue from the Aussie Rescue and Placement Helpline (ARPH). He was rescued out of a high-kill shelter in WV at the age of one year old...dropped off by his former owners for "chewing". He's chewed one item since he's been with me. Xander is a dog that needs a job. Since he's so sweet and cuddly, I thought he would be a good therapy dog. We joined Fidos in 2003. I figured this would keep him busy when he's not playing flyball or K-9 disc. He's proven himself to be a fabulous therapy dog, and is often seen meeting people belly-up, ready for a scratch. He's working on his SD skills, such as picking up objects, so he can show off more for the kids at dAp's and demos. He's always waiting with a smile for anyone who comes by a Fidos booth...often in a costume like his brother Ripley. He visits at Holy Cross Rehab and participates with his brother in the DEAR program at Bond Mill Elementary on Thursday mornings.
